Comments about cuisine and our facilities:

“Our recent stay at the Gallery Inn in Old San Juan was a wonderful experience. The Inn is unique in a good way, and the owner and staff are exceptional. We normally never eat in hotel restaurants, but we ate several meals in the Inn. The chef is a treasure. In fact, the entire staff treated us very well. They…

We had dinner at the Inn one night, and I highly recommend it! We had whole snapper, probably some of the best fish I’ve ever tasted. Our dinner companions were Jan and her husband, her son, and one of the hotel’s chefs, off-duty. He got up to prepare our fish exactly how he liked it. Not your typical hotel dinner, and that’s a good thing:)

On site restaurant is very good.

The food, though pricey, was absolutely out of this world

The staff is completely accommodating, from the owner to the chef to the maid.

The head chef came out and took care of our drinks and then told us all about the wonderful menu for the evening. After we ordered we notice a gentleman out in the garden area attending to the garden. We stopped him as he was leaving to compliment him on its beauty. Turns out this is Jan, the proprietors husband and he was picking our salad!

the delicious food (that left our guests speechless)

The restaurant is very good. It caters to the guests really, which means it should be bad but it isn’t. We ate there twice and really enjoyed it. The steaks and the fish were nicely done. And try the Puerto Rico lasagna which isn’t really lasagna but a local dish that looks like it

( I am a chef so I know food). The small menu is genious allowing the kitchen to concentrate on mastering a few dishes exceptionally.

Although we did not stay here, my husband and I walked over to check out this hotel and ended up staying for dinner. This place is incredibly unique and eclectic. The owner met us at the door with a large, white parrot perched on her shoulder. We enjoyed wonderful service from our waitress, “Kelly”. I ordered the fish, my husband had the pork. Everything was DELICIOUS! We also, per Kelly’s suggestion, had rum drinks with cranberry and lime…all this while relaxing on the outdoor garden patio. We will definitely book a room here the next time we visit San Juan.

Dinner was an amazing experience, in a beautifully surreal dining room, accompanied by wonderful live music – and the food was good, too!

The indoor and outdoor dining areas were quite lovely and the food and beverage offerings wonderful.

When I arrived and they were carrying in fresh fish (red snapper and dorado) in a basket I knew I was going to eat at the inn that night. The service was excellent and the experience superb.

Can you tell I’m in love with Gallery Inn? But my infatuation is founded on an excellent experience. Even if you can’t stay at Gallery Inn, make a reservation for dinner to relish in classic Puerto Rican cuisine with five-star execution while being serenaded by the gifted guitar player Felix Rodriguez

The food here is simply exquisite and to die for. The chef made the most mouthwatering, flavorful dishes I’ve ever had the privilege to taste. I had some of the best rice and beans as well as pork, salad, and desserts I’ve ever tasted and I could have melted when eating the food here.

Pros: eclectic, off the beaten path, one of a kind, great people, great dining in walking distance, the two forts in walking distance, the top deck has great views of Old San Juan. Lots of good pictures.

The restaurant on the premises is excellent, and as far as I am concerned some of the best food in Old San Juan, with amazing fresh fish, tender prime steak and other goodies.
